The V-th edition with 5 new members for TEMPORIS Hall of Fame.
The 5th Edition of TEMPORIS GALA AWARDS took place at Athenee Palace Hilton in Bucharest, Romania, marking a record participation and installing our event as a leading Gala dedicated to watch industry.
This year, the International Jury of TEMPORIS chose from a number of hundreds of watches 72 nominations for 13 categories. After the complex selection process performed by the Jury, more than 12.000 people entered in www.temporis.ro to vote their preferences. Finally, the winners are decided by the people interested in watches, following the latest modern trends on horlogerie.
The members of the Jury are coming from 9 countries, with 3 new members from 3 countries: Jan Lidmansky- journalist, Check Republic; Kari Voutilainen – independent watchmaker, Finland; Nicholas Foulkes – journalist of Financial Times, Vanity Fair and others, UK; Philippe Dufour – independent watchmaker, Switzerland; Bojan Levic – journalist, Slovenia; Radu Budes – watch aficionado, Peter Imre – watch aficionado and Dan Vardie – Founder Temporis, Romania. The new ones are Vidas Rachlevicius, journalist Latvia; Bernard Werk, journalist Nederland; Nicolas Fondaneche, dedicated watch blogger, trendsetter, France.
The evening opened with a special moment: The TEMPORIS GENUINE BRAND award, destined to a brand which is not horological. The winner of this year is Alfa Romeo Giulia. “This is a unique award in the world. Is about been genuine, authentic, original, trend setter beyond time. The new Giulia is building the future of Alfa brand taking over the quintessence of historical values of the brand, giving the interpretation of Alfa DNA for the future. Is a genuine complex process about been authentic!` stated Dan Vardie.
One of the records set this year was the presence of the 5 new members of our HALL OF FAME: Vianney Halter, The Horological Brothers from Grönefeld: Bartholomeus Albertus Johannes Grönefeld & Tim Lambertus Joseph Grönefeld, Jean-Marc Wiederrecht and Romain Gauthier. `This is a record arrived as a natural development of the Hall of Fame. The best proof is that for next year edition of TEMPORIS we have already scheduled two new members of our one of kind Hall of Fame. But TEMPORIS awards is not about records. We are not looking for such performance in the incoming years. Our mission is to offer to the Romanian watch aficionado’s the unique opportunity to meet the most brilliant watchmakers, designers and inventors of Haute Horlogerie.` Dan Vardie added.
The Jury give every year a special award- for this prize are voting exclusively the Jury members, and this year the award goes to Grönefeld 1941 Remontoire. Bart & Tim Grönefeld were overwhelmed on the stage: “We live for moments like this! Thank you Dan Vardie and Temporis, we are so happy to be here!”.
