TEMPORIS INTERNATIONAL GALA AWARDS ANNOUNCES ITS 10th EDITION TO TAKE PLACE AGAIN IN Zurich, SWITZERLAND

The 72 Finalists of 12 categories are announced today

Zurich, 20. September 2023 – TEMPORIS International Awards 2023 (TIA) announce today the finalists of this 12 categories edition. This is the result of the prestigious TIA Jury voting process. From today on, to vote the winners is the global public. The target is to attract watch passionate, connoisseurs and collectors from more than 50 countries from all around the world. The public vote is going live on the official site of the competition www.temporis.watch The 13th category, “The Jury Watch of the Year 2023” is reserved to the Jury members to decide the winner.

The 13 categories are unique, scrutinizing the watch world from a contemporary perspective. The traditional complicated watches are continuing to be very relevant as it is also new breed of haute horlogerie, coming from the new generations of talented master independent watchmakers. TIA was the first global competition introducing a category for quartz watches and one for connected watches. Besides these, since 2022 TIA is pioneering a category reserved to the start-ups in the watch industry and another one for sustainable watches in every respect. Finally, TIA offers a perspective for everyday watch and for vacation and red carpet.

Out of 72 finalists, no less than 51 watch brands got nominations. Of these, 16 have 2 or even 3 nominations. Frederique Constant, Parmigiani, Patek Philippe, Rolex and TAG Heuer are leading with no less than 3 nominations. With 2 nominations are coming Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Cartier, Chopard, JaegerLeCoultre, Montblanc, Omega, Oris, Singer, Tissot and Vacheron Constantin. The rest of 35 watch brands got one nomination.

There is only 1 model that has been nominated more than once – Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Universelle Ultra-Complication RD#4 for both TEMPORIS Best Complication Watch and TEMPORIS Watch of the Year 2023.

With almost 90% of all the nominations, the Swiss watch industry dominates this 10th Edition of TIA. There are also non-Swiss brands coming from 5 different countries (Germany, France, United Kingdom, United States and Japan) who managed to make the Finalists list.

The TEMPORIS Awards Gala is considered one of the most sought-after European events dedicated to the watch industry. Starting with its first edition, TEMPORIS Awards has gathered an educated-elitist public, united by their passion for watches and Genuine Brands. This Gala represents a key event for the watch industry, considering the attendance of the most important key executives in this sector, well known watchmakers and watch aficionados.  The success and positive feedback received by TEMPORIS Awards over the years have pushed the event to expand on the international scene. Following the very successful last year edition, the 10th edition that will come back in Zurich on October 26th, in the Petit Palais of Baur au Lac, a milestone of the vibrant city of Switzerland. Organizers of TIA 2022 Gala thank VINFAST, the global phenomenon of the car industry coming from Vietnam as the continuing main partner of the outstanding event organized in Baur au lac in Zurich.

For this new edition, TEMPORIS is proud and honored to welcome new personalities like Jean- Marc Wiederrecht and Thomas Campion as new members of the 2023 prestigious Temporis Jury. Another milestone for the watch industry, TEMPORIS Hall of Fame was launched 13 years ago as a globally unique gallery dedicated to the best, brilliant master watchmakers, designers and inventors in haute horlogerie of our time. The list of the Hall of Fame members is also on www.temporis.watch. So far, no less than 27 remarkable personalities joined the gala to be inducted in the Hall of Fame. Last year in Zurich, Konstantin Chaykin, the renowned master inventor, been inducted as the latest Hall of Famer. This year a new legend will be inducted on Gala stage. The name will be revealed only during the October 26-th event.  

Both TEMPORIS International Awards and Temporis Hall of Fame been established by Dan Vardie, the Founder of TEMPORIS media and TEMPORIS International Jury.
