On May 22, 2014, the third edition of the “TEMPORIS Awards Gala” will take place, an annual event organized by TEMPORIS magazine. It is for the third time in Romania, when an internationally recognized authority awards the best performing watch pieces of the year.
“TEMPORIS Awards” brings together under the same banner of passion for watches, for original brands, an elitist audience, represented by many participants from the country and abroad.
The concept of voting by which the winners will be nominated is an original and very transparent one. The international jury, made up of famous personalities – including the famous luxury journalist Nick Foulkes (Vanity Fairs) and Kari Voutilainen, one of the most competent independent watchmakers in the world – chose the nominations for each of the 11 watch categories. Then, the voting process moved to www.temporis.ro, where the public votes on a model for each category. Those who will vote have the chance to win the watch at stake only for voters: a Mondaine wall clock worth 1,690 lei, offered by Galt Orologerie.
The voting process started on May 6, 2014 and will continue until Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 24:00.
TEMPORIS launched, together with the first edition of Temporis Awards, for the first time in Europe, the concept “TEMPORIS Hall of Fame”.
Dan Vardie, the founder of TEMPORIS: “We laid the foundations of a gallery of the most valuable watchmakers on the planet. It is a tribute paid to the watchmaking genius, to the people who create the most interesting complications, forms and content. A unique gallery for unique people. ”
Four watchmakers were invited to Bucharest – and confirmed their participation – whose name is currently on everyone’s lips: Carole Forestier-Kasapi (Cartier watchmaker), Michel Parmigiani (founder Parmigiani Fleurier), Roger Dubuis (founder Roger Dubuis Manufacture) and Philippe Dufour (independent watchmaker).
The most important pillar of the TEMPORIS Awards event is the continuation of the “GENUINE BRAND” initiative.
“We recognize authentic, unique, original brands that have made an important contribution to the development of the world in which we live. We welcome brands that have opened new paths and perspectives and that, most of the times, inevitably have been copied, ”says Dan Vardie, who created this concept. The list of brands that have received this recognition includes Peugeot or Athenee Palace Hilton.
On the occasion of the event on May 22, TEMPORIS will organize a round table at which the distinguished guests from haute-horlogerie will answer the questions of a select audience, composed of independent watchmakers from Romania and passionate about watches. How, why and what happens in haute-horlogerie? What are the trends in the watch industry? What complications, watchmakers or personalities redefine the time industry? These questions will be answered by guests – a historic meeting, almost impossible to achieve even in the Land of Cantons, but successful, thanks to Temporis, in Bucharest …
