The 11th edition of the awards returns to Zürich, focusing on diversity and excellence in watchmaking
Zürich, September 9th, 2024: The TEMPORIS International Awards (TIA) Gala, the event dedicated to the watch industry, is set to take place in Zürich on October 23rd for its 11th edition.
TIA 2024 announces today the finalists of this 13 categories edition. This is the result of the prestigious TIA Jury voting process. From today on, the global public will vote to decide the winners among 72 exceptional watches. The aim is to attract watch enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and collectors from more than 50 countries worldwide. Public voting is now live on the official site of the competition: www.temporis.watch. The 13th category, “Jury Watch of the Year 2024,” is reserved exclusively for the Jury members to decide the winner, comprising 6 carefully selected watches.
The 13 categories are unique, scrutinizing the watch world from a contemporary perspective. The traditional complicated watches continue to be very relevant, as is the new breed of haute horlogerie, coming from the new generations of talented independent master watchmakers. TIA was the first global competition to introduce a category for quartz watches and another for connected watches. Since 2022, TIA has pioneered a category reserved for start-ups in the watch industry and another for sustainable watches in every respect. Finally, TIA offers perspectives on everyday watches and those fit for vacations or the red carpet.
The 2024 watchmaking competition has brought to light 49 esteemed brands, each receiving significant nominations across various categories. Hublot and TAG Heuer lead the ranking with a record four nominations each. Noteworthy mentions also include Cartier and Hermes, with three watches nominated across three categories. Impresively, IWC has achieved a record with three nominations for the same watch, the Portugieser Eternal Calendar, across different categories. This outstanding IWC piece of haute horlogerie already won the “MASTERPIECE presented at Watches and Wonders 2024” prize.
In the 2024 edition of the TEMPORIS International Awards, renowned watch brands such as A. Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Bulgari, De Bethune, Frederique Constant, H. Moser & Cie, ID Genève, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Omega, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Rolex, Swatch and Ulysse Nardin have each garnered two nominations, reflecting their outstanding contributions to the watchmaking industry across various categories.
The competition also reflects a diverse global presence, with six non-Swiss brands making notable contributions. These include A. Lange & Söhne from Germany, Awake from France, Grand Seiko from Japan, Fossil from the USA, Louis Vuitton from France, Jacob & Co from the USA.
These nominations not only celebrate the pinnacle of watchmaking excellence but also underscore the industry’s continuous evolution and innovation from around the globe.

This Gala is a key event for the watch industry, with the attendance of prominent key executives, renowned watchmakers, and watch aficionados. Following the highly successful previous edition, the 11th edition will return to Zurich on October 23rd at the Kongresshaus Zürich, a landmark venue in the vibrant Swiss city.
For this new edition, TEMPORIS is proud and honoured to welcome new iconic personalities like Jean Claude Biver, Jeff Dodds, Astrid Wendlandt, Fabienne Lupo, Fanny Queloz, Xavier Dietlin, Jean-Claude Eggen and Giorgio Galli. as new members of the 2024 prestigious Temporis Jury. Another milestone for the watch industry, the TEMPORIS Hall of Fame was launched 14 years ago as a globally unique gallery dedicated to the best, most brilliant master watchmakers, designers, and inventors in haute horlogerie of our time. The list of Hall of Fame members is also on www.temporis.watch/hall-of-fame/. So far, no less than 28 remarkable personalities have joined the gala to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Last year in Zurich, Jean-François Mojon, one of the greatest and most inspirational master watchmakers of our time, was inducted as the latest Hall of Famer. This year, a new legend will be inducted on the Gala stage. The name will be revealed only during the October 23rd event.
